What we do

Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad.

 Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Our 35,000+ clubs work together to:

  • Promote peace
  • Fight disease
  • Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Save mothers and children
  • Support education
  • Grow local economies

The Local Forest Acres Rotary Club is one of 14 clubs in Columbia, South Carolina.

We currently have 33 members in diverse occupations.

Our Mission consists of four different areas:
Local:
 Support the local community through interaction, fund raising, and charitable distribution.
District (SC) and National:  Communication and networking with other clubs in the state.
Educational:  International scholarships and other educational activities.
International: Eradication of polio worldwide, drinking water safety in Peru & other educational projects.

Interact Clubs

Interact is a service club for youth ages 12 to 18 who want to connect with other young people and havefun while serving their communities and learning about the world. Much like junior Rotary Clubs, Interact Clubs meet at least twice amonth, and are sponsored by local Rotary clubs. Interact clubs organize two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Members of sponsor Rotary clubs mentor Interactors as they carry out the projects and develop leadership skills. Currently Forest Acres does not have an Interact Club.

District 7700

District 7700 comprises the 25 Eastern counties of South Carolina with 79 Rotary clubs.
